Ronald McDonald House Charities is an independent, community supported 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.
In 2010, Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Memphis provided a home for more than 500 families and children, all because of the love and generous donations of our donors and volunteers.
Since opening in 1991, Ronald McDonald House® of Memphis has housed over 6,000 children from nearly every state and 45 countries. All families stay completely free of charge.
The actual cost of operating each room per night is $108, with the average cost per family stay reaching nearly $2,600.
The vast majority of funding needed to operate a Ronald McDonald House® is provided by residents of the communities served by the House - individuals, corporations, foundations, and civic groups, to name a few.

Ronald McDonald House® is a residential housing unit only – the patients receive no medical attention or treatments at the house. Ronald McDonald House® is nondiscriminatory and non-sectarian. Ronald McDonald House®’s doors are open to every patient of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, regardless of religion, ethnicity, race, gender, national origin, and age.
Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Memphis provides large living rooms with fireplaces, common dining rooms with play areas for small children, assigned kitchen space to prepare meals, a newly renovated Teen Room, a Pre-teen Room, three laundry rooms, an Exercise room, Meditation Room, Craft Room, two TV lounges, a Conference/Board Room, a video check-out area, several patios and two playgrounds.
