Ronald McDonald House, a program of Ronald McDonald House Charities^® of Memphis (RMHC of Memphis) offers faith, hope and love to families who have a very brave child battling cancer by offering a "home-way-from-home" at no cost to them. Because we want to always be here for these families, our Hearts for the Future Society was established.

 

Hearts for the Future is a fundraising effort focused on cultivating and encouraging donations of unrestricted operating funds by individuals and businesses through multi-year pledges. In order to create a secure future for the House, we wanted to establish something that would allow us long-term stability instead of being dependent on events each year. We wanted to create an opportunity to truly focus on tomorrow today!

 

Ronald McDonald House Charities^® of Memphis is called "The House That Love Built". We began 18 years ago by families who had sick children and knew the needs of other families going through similar situations. Initially, there were rooms for 24 families; then in 1999, the House expanded to 51 rooms. The need to serve more families was immediate so an expansion was undertaken, and the Board of Directors assumed a six million dollar debt to make the expansion possible.

 

The House is sustained by the FAITH of the families who live in the House and those who come to share their faith through a caring word, a selfless act of kindness or an inspiring song. Caring for a sick child is a test of faith, and having others along on that journey makes the trip bearable.

 

HOPE must be a daily companion of our families. Hope for the life that was envisioned with the birth of this child, and the hope that the family will remain whole.

 

The House is also sustained by LOVE each day. Love from all those in the home towns of our families who send their messages of devotion and support in so many ways; the many talented volunteers who come to Ronald McDonald House daily to offer care and compassion, and a dedicated, professional staff who could not work at the House if their heart was not in their work.

 

 

 

Pledges can be paid at one time or in increments suitable to the donor over the course of the year.
